2019: Theatrical Translation as Creative Process: A Conference Festival II, Chapel Hill, NC (October 10-13), a conference on theatrical translation as creative process, organized by The Mercurian: A Theatrical Translation Review, in collaboration with the Process Series, the Department of Dramatic Art, the Department of Romance Studies, and UNC Global, at the University of North Carolina, and the Language Acts and Worldmaking project at King’s College, London. Staged readings of translated material with the translators in attendance were presented and discussed, open space was provided for discussion of theatrical translation, and translators brought script excerpts for cold readings of play translations.*
2018: — Did not attend any fall conferences — instead drove my 91-year-old mom to the The William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum in Atlanta so she could sit for an oral history interview about growing up in Atlanta and to donate family papers and memorabilia to the Cuba Family Archives for Southern Jewish History. What a trip!
